As one who books speakers and/or broadcast guests -- or participates in such decisions -- you know that the quality of your presenters determines the success of your programs. We know that, too, so at the Author's Roost we do everything we can to assure that the people we offer are not only well qualified to speak on their subject matter, but also that they do it in an interesting, entertaining and audience-appropriate way.
We act as only as an intermediary, a referring source, but even though we don't have any direct responsibility for our speakers -- because they negotiate their own fees and terms and agree individually with their hosts on the material they will deliver -- we feel a strong obligation toward you, their customers.
As a result, we thoroughly screen all of our speakers before accepting them into membership, and we continually offer them coaching and mentoring to help them become more and more professional with each presentation they make. And once you begin to use us as a source, we invite you to send us comments about any member you engage for your organization, and we will take your evaluation very seriously.
This is a brand new idea, the first of its kind anywhere, as far as we know, and we hope you will help us to make it a success both for our authors and for you.
The Process
When you discover or decide that you want a professional speaker -- a local author or businessperson -- to present a talk, a speech, a workshop, seminar or training to your group, the first place to go is to this website -- where you can search entire site for appropriate speakers. Once you have found a selection of possible presenters, you can contact each one personally, via email or by visiting their websites, outlining what it is you desire from a guest speaker, interviewee or presenter.
If you'd rather have us find the right person for you -- or if you don't have time for a search and the necessary follow-up -- just click here and we'll take you to a form you can submit, then we'll do the research for you (right away) and send you recommendations. This way you'll have everything in one place, and we may be able to come up with more choices than you would.
Finally, when you have all the information you need, notify the speaker, interviewee or presenter you have chosen. That person will then make final arrangements with you, and you may rest assured that you are dealing with a professional and that you can make any remaining arrangements directly and efficiently.
And that's all there is to it.
